Architect Aino Marsio-Aalto specialized in designing glass objects, furniture, lighting fixtures and textiles. She designed the Bölgeblick glass series in 1932 and won a gold medal for it in the Milan Triennial in 1936. She is told to have been inspired by the nested circles that appear on water when a stone is thrown in. This series is now known by her name, Aino Aalto. It is still in production and can be found on countless dinner tables across Finland.
