Nokia-Mobira launched the Mobira Cityman 900 mobile phone on the market in 1987. It was the first mobile phone by this company that was small and light enough to carry along. It was known as the “Gorba Phone” because the President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev used it to call Moscow from Helsinki in 1989. The model was designed by Matti Makkonen and Jorma Pitkonen.
